Student Advancement Program (SAP)

The Student Advancement Program is a comprehensive approach to helping women prepare to take the required test to gain their GED (General Education Development) and/or entry exam as a mature student in order to enter college.

The SAP is offered on a full time basis, 9am -5pm and focuses on helping adult learners acquire knowledge, skills, and concepts through academic assessments working with interactive software – Plato, in class study on six academic subjects, life skills, one-on-one tutoring and computer training.

Using a popular education approach we offer classes taught in a traditional “native learning style” which includes promoting balance within oneself spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically through traditional teaching by Elders, Daily Smudge circles, healing circles, participating in cultural events, healing retreats and volunteering in other programs and community events.

Once a student has completed all areas of study we arrange for that student to take the GED test, and pay all the required fees.

Once the student graduates we provide support and assistance in either employment readiness or college/university enrollment.
